On my last Disney trip I stayed at the Wyndham Orlando Resort and it was an incredible hotel to be at. My fiancé, Michael, and I planned this Disney trip for November to celebrate our engagement as of the end of September!!
We spent 4 days in Orlando and most of our trip was spent in Disney. As much as I love staying in Disney hotels, they're usually more expensive than off property hotels. For this trip, we were not doing full park days so there wasn't a need for us to be taking the Disney buses at sunrise/midnight (which is why I like staying on property for trips like that). Our main goal on this trip was to relax, casually explore the non-park things in Disney, and spend the evening in the parks. Because of that, it made sense to stay off-property.
We are so so grateful for the Wyndham Orlando Resort for hosting us this trip! Below you can see everything this hotel has to offer and lots of pictures from our stay. If you are interested in booking this hotel, you can get up to 30% off your stay when booking through this link here!
The Rooms
We stayed in a king room in the North Tower so we had a nice view of Orlando and ICON Park! Our room included a king bed, dresser, TV, desk, pull out couch, two end tables with storage, open closet, and a full length mirror. The bathroom had lots of counter space and under-sink storage, toilet, and stand up shower. Our room also had AC, a mini fridge, a coffee maker, and black out curtains.
Disney resort rooms tend to be on the smaller side so it was nice that in this room we were able to spread out and have our own space! If you are looking for more room in your hotel but want to keep the cost down, off property is definitely the way to go- in my opinion.
It was a nice change to be off property and truly made us relax more than we probably would have if we were on property. When I stay in a Disney resort, since we're spending a decent amount of money, I feel like I need to experience every aspect of the resort. Just feels a lot harder for me to relax! By being at the Wyndham, we slept in every day, took our time getting ready, and just had nice/relaxing mornings! It was honestly so perfect because we felt refreshed every day heading into Disney- which is what we wanted for this celebratory engagement trip!
The Dining
The Wyndham Orlando Resort offers a breakfast buffet. At off property hotels, it's always nice when there's a breakfast buffet. There is a charge for the breakfast buffet but it's definitely worth it. Buffets can always be a hit or miss but this one was surprisingly good! To not have to stress about finding breakfast at the parks and fuel up before you leave the hotel is always a plus.
There's a Pizza Hut located in this resort as well which was very nice on our last night. TBH, I dont know how this happened but we forgot to eat dinner when we were in the parks so we grabbed pizza, breadsticks, and mozzerella sticks for dinner. It was suprisingly so yummy!! We ate it in our room while watching The Office and it was such a nice, lowkey way to end our trip!
The best part in my opinion though is the Starbucks in the lobby. It is a full-blown Starbucks and it literally made every morning for us. I've become such a morning coffee drinker and I'm in need of caffeine in the AM on vacation especially. Nothing is more frustrating than struggling to find coffee on a trip so the Starbucks at this resort was a gamechanger hahaha.
The Transportation
This resort is located off West Irlo Bronson and about a 15 min drive from Disney. We Uber-ed to and from Disney every day and every ride ranged from about $11-$19. If you do have a car, there is free onsite parking here but if not, there is a free shuttle to various theme parks in Orlando.
Things To Do
At this resort, there is a heated outdoor pool, indoor TopGolf simulator, a kids play zone, convenience store, and a gym. We didn't take advantage of these aspects of the resort since we were so busy at the parks but it was nice to know that they had all of this!
All in all, we loved our stay here!! Definitely a great place to be for staying off property on a Disney vacation.
